about
Jubilee Louis (Tacoma, WA, USA):
I'm Jubilee Louis.
I finally found what seems to make me feel I have true purpose. I come from a very death stricken, cracked out, broken home down in Vicksburg, Mississippi. My father was murdered when I was about 2 so I don’t remember much of him. My mother left me and my two older brothers shortly after he was killed. CPS picked my brothers and me up after about a month of us being by ourselves with an eviction notice on the door. My father's mother took us in and raised us as her own, but we lived in a very crowded house and I was the youngest of everyone. I've felt enormous pain and fear for most my life from witnessing all the things I did at a very young age. The fear of death, the fear of love and the fear of being left.
Growing up I didn’t have a lot of resources as far as music but I could listen to it all day with my uncles and aunties. It was always some blues or gangster rap playing in our house. I enjoy lyricists and artists that can project intense energy with words. Mobb Deep, 36 Mafia, Pastor Troy, 2Pac and Lil Wayne are still some of my favorite artists till this day. I don’t have much experience in recording and mixing but I’ve worked at it every day for the last 2 years or so in hopes of being able to put out a few projects and show the world my talent and tell my story along the way.
My short-term goal when I started was to put out a full mixtape, and as of now I’m wrapping that up to release on all platforms. My main focus right now is becoming more confident in my craft and skill so I can share more music with the world.
